We are thrilled to announce that Kayla Nuszen, a graduate student at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, is the recipient of the 2025 Spotter Staffing ISHA Scholarship! Kayla, who anticipates graduating in May 2026, embodies the perseverance, passion, and commitment to service that define Spotter Staffing’s core values.

Among the many impressive applicants, Kayla’s story stood out as a true testament to resilience. She said of her win, “I am truly honored to receive the 2025 ISHA scholarship as I pursue my future career path of becoming a Speech-Language Pathologist. As I progress in my academic journey at the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign, I am driven by a deep passion to draw upon my personal experiences to offer my future clients exceptional care.” Nuszen continued, “Having overcome numerous challenges, including a speech impediment, I understand the significance of communication and the vital role it plays in our everyday lives. As a future Speech-Language Pathologist, I aim to bridge communication gaps and deliver client-centered care. I am truly grateful to Spotter Staffing for their continued encouragement and support, which provides graduate students like me with meaningful opportunities to engage in within the field of speech-language pathology.”

Kayla’s journey is one of overcoming adversity, embracing challenges, and using her personal experiences to inspire others. Having faced her own speech impediment as a child, she now views that challenge as a “blessing in disguise” that led her to a career in speech-language pathology. She hopes to provide the same encouragement and support to future clients that she once received.
