As an LBS1 Teacher , you would be responsible for providing specialized instruction to high school students with learning disabilities, focusing on subjects such as mathematics,science and social studies. The role also involves managing Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to support student success.
Instructional Planning & Delivery
Develop and implement individualized lesson plans tailored to students' learning needs.
Utilize a variety of teaching strategies and materials, including hands-on and multi-sensory approaches, to enhance student engagement and understanding.
Integrate remediation and language arts instruction across content areas.
Classroom Environment & Student Support
Create a positive, structured, and supportive classroom environment conducive to learning.
Implement behavioral interventions and support social-emotional development.
Promote self-advocacy skills and prepare students for successful transitions to mainstream settings or post-school life
Professional Collaboration & Development
Participate in curriculum planning, faculty meetings, and professional development opportunities.
Engage in ongoing reflection and adaptation of teaching practices to meet evolving student needs.
Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field.
Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with LBS1 endorsement.
Experience working with students with learning disabilities is preferred.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
