If you want to work hard, aspire to do a great job, and appreciate being surrounded by colleagues who feel the same, this is the perfect place for you. This school is about results, support, and teamwork.
With a student body that is 2/3 dual language, the school is incredibly supportive of its diverse community and committed to meeting the unique needs of every student. Here, you’ll have the opportunity to make a real impact on their long-term academic and personal success — and you’ll do so in an environment that values your expertise and contributions every step of the way.
You’ll need to hit the ground running with a passion for working with younger children on speech and language skills. The school is approximately 2/3 dual-language students, so it’s critical to have the expertise to distinguish between language barrier and speech/articulation delays. (Bilingual skills would be a bonus but are not required.)
Your skill set should include experience in:
Speech and Language Development
Articulation and Phonology
Pragmatics and Early Literacy Support
Identifying speech vs. language-based needs
Your first day will involve a dedicated onboarding process where the Special Education Administrator will:
Review access and logins for school systems
Provide an overview of processes and expectations
Help you get familiar with the school, its layout, and the schedule
Ensure you feel confident and ready to support students successfully
Your primary focus will be early-intervention with Kindergarten and 1st grade students, identifying those who need speech therapy versus language support.
Your responsibilities will include:
Conducting speech/language screenings and therapy sessions
Supporting students in articulation, phonology, language development, pragmatics, fluency, and play-based early literacy
Providing therapy to students with higher needs in 2nd–5th grade as needed, especially those in self-contained or resource special education classes
Completing IEP reviews and writing SLP goals and progress updates
Building relationships with students, parents, and team members
