Pay Range: $55–$65/hour
Contract Duration: Full 2025–2026 School Year

Why You’ll Love This Opportunity

This is a fully virtual SLP role serving a vibrant and diverse Hispanic student population in a small, tight-knit lake community. You’ll be part of a district that is deeply inclusive and student-centered, where diversity is embraced and supported. You’ll also work alongside a Director of Special Services who is creative, collaborative, and highly respected across Northern Illinois—a true partner who sets their team up for success.

If you’re a bilingual SLP looking for a flexible part-time schedule while making a meaningful impact, this is a fantastic opportunity.

What We’re Looking For

  • Professional Educator License (PEL) with Speech-Language Pathology endorsement.

  • Bilingual in Spanish, with the appropriate ISBE endorsement.

  • Comfortable working with students virtually and collaborating with on-site staff.

  • Strong cultural competence and a passion for supporting bilingual learners.

Onboarding Process

Although this is a virtual role, the district has a structured onboarding process to ensure a smooth transition. You’ll:

  • Receive access to all necessary systems and digital platforms.

  • Meet virtually with support staff and related service providers.

  • Review IEPs and student needs.

  • Collaboratively set up a flexible schedule that works best for students and your availability.

A Typical Day/Week

  • Provide speech-language services for approximately 8 students per day.

  • Conduct evaluations and provide therapy primarily for K–4 students, with 1–2 students in grades 5–8.

  • Many students are on speech-only IEPs, allowing you to focus on targeted language goals.

  • Support academic language development in English while targeting specific skills in Spanish, the students’ dominant language.

  • Preferred schedule involves short daily service blocks, offering flexibility for both the SLP and students.

School Culture

The district is inclusive, collaborative, and student-focused. They are committed to meeting the diverse needs of their community through thoughtful programming and strong relationships with staff.
