Job Title: Occupational Therapist – Leave of Absence

Location: Grayslake, IL Area
Employment Type: Contract (Leave Coverage: November–January)
Pay Range: $50–$55/hour
Hours: 7:30 AM – 2:30 PM

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience working with younger children (PreK–1st)

  • Familiarity with IEPs and providing school-based OT services

  • Strong foundational skills in fine motor and executive function development

  • Ability to quickly build rapport with students and staff


Onboarding Process

The school has a streamlined onboarding plan to help you get up to speed quickly. You’ll review current student needs, progress data, and IEP goals so you can step confidently into therapy sessions. Support from existing staff will ensure a smooth handoff.


A Typical Day/Week

  • Morning: Work with Pre-K students during their half-day program, focusing on foundational fine motor skills and functional independence.

  • Late Morning–Afternoon: Provide services to kindergarten students through the end of the school day.

  • Caseload: Approximately 27 students receiving OT services for fine motor development and executive function, typically totaling 120 minutes per student per month.

  • Hours: 7:30 AM – 2:30 PM
