Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree from accredited university
- Valid Texas teacher certificate with an Early Childhood endorsement
- Valid Special Education Certification
- Valid English Second Language endorsement
- Minimum of 1 year teaching experience in an ECSE or EC classroom (student teaching or approved internship)
- Pre-kindergarten/kindergarten classroom experience (preferred)
- Desired Skills:
- Knowledge of the Texas Pre-K Guidelines
- Knowledge of early childhood development and best practices
- Knowledge of Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committee process and Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goal setting process and implementation
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrates professionalism and ability to work well with others
- Demonstrate proficiency in computer applications
- General knowledge of curriculum and instruction
- Develop and implement instructional plans and daily programing to facilitate student learning
- Develop and implement Individualized Education Plans
Job Duties:
- Participate in ARD Committee meetings
- Implement individualized behavior management plans
- Maintain up-to-date data collection of student progress
- Maintain communication with parents pertaining to student progress
- Collaborate with related service providers and assist with implementation of programs developed for students
- Maintain knowledge of various adaptive equipment and assistive devices
- Maintain complete confidentiality of all individual student information/records
- Assist with lifting, handling, feeding, changing, toileting and other needs specific to the special population
Support and Participation:
- Participate in staff development activities to improve job-related skills
- Complete 15 hours of experiential learning, practical application, and direct interaction annually with specialists in early childhood education, mentors or instructional coach
- Comply with state, district, and school regulations and policies for classroom teachers
- Attend and participate in faculty meetings and serve on staff committees as required
Hours:
40 hours per week
Monday – Friday
7:30am – 3:30pm

Compensation:
$45/hour and up, depending on experience.

ECSE Self Contained Classroom
Cap of 9 students (current caseload is 4 students)
Case manager for class
2 para professionals in the classroom
Students diagnosed with non-verbal Autism
