School Social Worker
Location: Lake County, IL
Start Date: Immediate
Schedule: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM (some flexibility)
Pay: Up to $63/hour
Term: Full 2025–2026 school year, with the possibility of ESY (Extended School Year) work and continuation into the 2026–2027 school year
Overview:
Join Spotter's growing Lake County team as a School Social Worker serving a diverse and community-focused district that values dedication, service, and excellence. You’ll be part of a program designed to support students who occasionally display verbal—not physical—behavioral challenges. Students requiring physical behavior intervention are supported in a separate program.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide direct social work services to students through individual and group counseling
Support emotional regulation and positive behavior strategies for students with verbal behavioral needs
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and parents to implement student-centered interventions
Participate in IEP meetings and assist with behavior and support planning
Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with district and state requirements
Contribute to a positive, inclusive learning environment
What to Expect:
The first few days include a full onboarding experience with SPED administration—covering systems, access, processes, and expectations
A dedicated onboarding day ensures you’re fully set up for success
The district pays for additional teacher time, such as Teacher Institute Days
You’ll be joining a supportive district with multiple social workers already on staff
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in Social Work (MSW)
Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with School Social Worker endorsement
Experience working with students with verbal or emotional behaviors preferred
Strong collaboration, communication, and problem-solving skills
