Special Education Teacher (Behavioral Focus)

Elementary Level | Long-Term Assignment

A leading education staffing company is seeking a Special Education Teacher for a long-term assignment at an elementary school in a suburban public school district. This position supports students with behavioral needs in a self-contained classroom setting.

Assignment Dates: January 5, 2026 – June 5, 2026
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 7:20 a.m. – 2:35 p.m.
Caseload: Approximately 5–8 students
Grade Levels: 3rd–5th

Position Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a self-contained special education teacher for upper elementary students with behavioral needs

  • Deliver primary instruction in literacy, math, science, and social studies in small-group settings

  • Develop, implement, and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)

  • Collect, track, and analyze data related to student IEP goals and progress

  • Collaborate closely with IEP team members, school staff, and families to support student success

  • Maintain compliance with all special education documentation and reporting requirements

Qualifications:

  • Valid Special Education teaching license (state-specific)

  • Experience working with students with behavioral and emotional needs preferred

  • Strong classroom management and data-driven instructional skills

  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams
