Social Worker – ESY (Extended School Year)

Location: Near Grayslake, IL
Pay: $50 – $60 per hour
Position Overview:
As a Social Worker for Extended School Year (ESY), you will provide essential social and emotional support to students with disabilities. Your placement will align with your skills, abilities, and goals, ensuring a fulfilling and impactful role.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide crisis intervention, behavioral support, and conflict resolution for students with a variety of emotional and behavioral needs.
- Work closely with students on coping skills, social skills, and case management to support their social and emotional development.
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other specialists to implement individualized plans and strategies for student success.
- Maintain accurate case records, progress notes, and documentation in compliance with school policies.
- Attend and participate in IEP meetings to provide insights on student needs and contribute to the development of goals and interventions.
What Skills Are Needed on Day One?
- Strong background in crisis intervention, behavioral support, conflict resolution, and case management.
- Expertise in working with students with disabilities to address emotional and behavioral challenges.
- Ability to foster and develop coping skills, social skills, and self-regulation techniques with students.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills to work with a multidisciplinary team, including parents, staff, and leadership.

- Introduction to your assigned school, caseload, and student needs, with a clear plan and expectations for providing services.
- Ongoing support from the leadership team and fellow social workers to ensure you're set up for success.
What Does a Typical Day/Week Look Like?
- Your schedule will be personalized based on your skills and the students' needs.
- Provide individual and group support focusing on behavioral and emotional needs.
- Collaborate daily with educators and other specialists to create effective strategies and ensure comprehensive care for students.
- Crisis intervention may be required depending on the needs of the students you serve.
