School Social Worker (K–2)
Start Date: February 2026 (Full-Time Through 2026–2027 School Year)
Schedule: 8:45 AM – 4:15 PM (Daily unpaid 30-minute lunch)
Location: Near Winthrop Harbor
Pay: Up to $60/hr
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated School Social Worker to support Kindergarten through 2nd grade students in a recently renovated school with modernized classrooms and technology. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students from low-income and diverse communities while contributing to a district investing in new Special Education leadership and growth.
The ideal candidate is passionate about early social-emotional development, behavior support, and working with students who have a wide range of learning, behavioral, and emotional disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide primarily pull-out services for students with Emotional Disability (ED) and Behavior Disorder (BD) needs
- Deliver 1:1 support focused on:
- Emotional regulation
- Coping skills
- Conflict resolution
- Support classrooms with behavior de-escalation and proactive co-regulation
- Collaborate with teachers on:
- Behavior intervention strategies
- Classroom planning and support
- Contribute to a positive, student-centered culture focused on high-quality special education services
- Build meaningful relationships with students and families to support long-term success

- Grades Kindergarten – 2nd Grade
