A partner district is seeking a qualified Educational Diagnostician to support the district’s special education evaluation and ARD process. The Diagnostician will work collaboratively with special education staff, administrators, teachers, and families to ensure students receive appropriate services in compliance with federal and Texas state special education regulations.

This is a contract position through a special education staffing provider, offering the opportunity to work in a highly supportive and student-focused district.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct Full and Individual Evaluations (FIEs) for students referred for special education services.

  • Interpret assessment results and prepare comprehensive evaluation reports.

  • Ensure evaluations meet IDEA and Texas Education Agency (TEA) requirements.

  • Participate in and help facilitate ARD (Admission, Review, and Dismissal) meetings.

  • Collaborate with school psychologists, special education staff, administrators, and related service providers.

  • Provide recommendations for appropriate educational programming and services.

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with district and state guidelines.

  • Support re-evaluations, eligibility determinations, and compliance timelines.

  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding evaluation results and recommendations.

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree in Educational Diagnosis, School Psychology, or related field.

  • Texas Educational Diagnostician Certification required.

  • Knowledge of IDEA, Texas special education law, and evaluation procedures.

  • Experience conducting psychoeducational and academic assessments.

  • Strong written communication and report writing skills.

  • Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.

Preferred Experience

  • Previous experience working as an Educational Diagnostician in a Texas school district.

  • Familiarity with Texas evaluation timelines and ARD procedures.

  • Experience with commonly used assessment tools and evaluation platforms.

Hours for (JOB TITLE):TBD

Compensation: 48-55 an hour based on experience
