Lindenhurst, IL Placed by Spotter Staffing | $60–$70/hour
About the Opportunity
Spotter Staffing is partnering with Lake Villa School District 41 to place a Speech-Language Pathologist at Hooper Elementary School for the upcoming school year. This is a contract position with a team and environment that make people want to stay — and many do.
Schedule & Hours Contract hours are 8:20 AM – 3:50 PM with a 30-minute unpaid lunch, yielding approximately 35 paid hours per week. Fridays are short student contact days, with staff dedicating that time to professional development, documentation, and collaboration — no scrambling to fit it in after hours.
The Environment
This is a community-first school operating under the motto “Achieving Excellence Takes Everyone.” The building has a genuinely collaborative feel backed by serious clinical infrastructure:
This is not a revolving door. People come here and build careers.
Professional Development
The district takes PD seriously. The full speech team convenes 5–6 times per year for dedicated professional development sessions led by a well-known external PD provider focused on training, research, and clinical problem-solving. Friday schedules are structured to protect time for this work every week.
Mentorship & Support
The incoming SLP will be assigned a mentor who is also a member of the district's Assistive Technology team — a meaningful dual resource for both clinical growth and tech integration. The Assistant Superintendent's SLP background means leadership actually understands the work.
Caseload
Caseload will be divided between the two building SLPs by the principal. This position will include PreK students and elementary-age students in the cross-categorical program. Collaboration with parents and families is a core value of the district.
