Occupational Therapist – High School (Moderate/Severe Population)
Location: Near Deerfield, IL
Schedule: School hours, 8:00 AM – 3:15 PM (school calendar year)
Pay: Up to $54/hour

About the Placement
Spotter Staffing is partnering with a highly regarded public high school in the north Chicago suburbs to place an Occupational Therapist for the upcoming school year. The role serves students on a special education cooperative's caseload, working alongside a collaborative, well-resourced multidisciplinary team (case managers, social workers, school nurses, and related service providers). The school and cooperative are known for strong community reputations, active family partnerships, and a culture that supports both students and staff (including established therapy dog and student spotlight programs).
Caseload is high school-aged students with moderate to severe needs. Specific caseload size and student profiles will be shared and discussed during the interview process.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct and consultative OT services per student IEPs
- Conduct evaluations/re-evaluations and write compliant reports
- Collaborate with teachers, case managers, and related service staff on goals and classroom strategies
- Support fine motor, sensory, self-help, and functional/vocational skill development appropriate for a moderate/severe high school population
- Participate in IEP meetings and progress reporting
- Maintain documentation in compliance with district and state requirements
Qualifications
- Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy
- Current Illinois OT license (or eligible)
- School-based experience strongly preferred; experience with moderate/severe populations a plus
- Illinois PEL with OT endorsement, or willingness to obtain
