Position Overview

  • Role: Self-Contained LBS1 Teacher
  • Grade Levels: 1st–2nd Grade (building serves K–5)
  • Location: Elementary school in McHenry, IL
  • Schedule: August 17, 2026 – May 26, 2027
  • Hours: 8:45 AM – 4:05 PM (30-minute unpaid lunch), 7 hours/day
  • Setting: Onsite
  • Pay Rate: $50–$60/hour, based on experience
  • Employed through: Spotter

The Classroom

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver individualized instruction aligned to IEP goals for students with autism
  • Manage and support a classroom team of 3 paraprofessionals
  • Collaborate with related service providers to integrate therapy goals into daily instruction
  • Implement behavior support strategies and maintain a structured, predictable classroom environment
  • Track and document student progress; prepare for and participate in IEP meetings
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and needs

Requirements

  • Valid Illinois PEL with LBS1 endorsement
  • Experience in self-contained special education preferred, particularly with autism programming
  • Strong classroom management and collaboration skills
