Speech-Language Pathologist – School-Based
Location: Near Gurnee, IL area
Position Type: Part-Time or Full-Time
Start: Immediate, continuing through school year
Pay: $60–$80 per hour
Schedule
- Approximately 7:30 AM – 3:00 PM (30-minute unpaid lunch)
- Part-time or full-time availability considered
- Covering intermittent leave for current SLP; coverage needs may fluctuate throughout the year
About the Opportunity
Primary school serving grades 1-3 is seeking an SLP to support a full caseload (up to 60 students) while the current SLP is on intermittent leave. Students present with a range of needs including language, articulation, and fluency/stuttering — no students with significant behavioral needs.
Responsibilities
- Provide direct speech-language therapy services (language, articulation, fluency) per IEP
- Conduct evaluations and re-evaluations as needed
- Develop, implement, and progress-monitor IEP goals
- Maintain timely, compliant documentation
- Collaborate with classroom teachers and related service providers
- Participate in IEP meetings as needed
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active Illinois SLP License (IDFPR)
- Experience with elementary-age caseloads preferred
- Comfortable stepping into an existing caseload with minimal ramp-up time
