Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)

Location: Round Lake, IL area
Schedule: 8:15 AM – 3:45 PM (30-minute unpaid lunch)
Pay: $38–$40/hour
Start Date: September 14th
Duration: Full 2026–2027 school year

Position Summary

We are seeking a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant to support a caseload of approximately 40 elementary students (K–5th grade) under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. Students present a range of severities, from mild language delays to nonverbal students requiring AAC/alternative communication support.

Responsibilities

  • Implement therapy plans and activities as directed by the supervising SLP
  • Provide direct services to students individually and in small groups
  • Support students using AAC devices and alternative communication methods
  • Document student progress and session data accurately and timely
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, related service providers, and the supervising SLP
  • Prepare therapy materials and maintain therapy space/equipment

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Communication Disorders/SLPA program (required)
  • Current Illinois SLPA licensure (required)
  • Experience with pediatric/elementary caseloads preferred
  • Experience with AAC devices and nonverbal students a plus
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
