Occupational Therapist – School-Based Contract

Location: Grayslake-Gurnee Area High School & Mundelein K-12 school
Assignment Type: Contract – Leave Coverage
Start/End Dates: 10/15/26 – February 2027
Schedule: 8:00 AM – 3:30 PM (7.5 hrs/day, 30-min unpaid lunch)
FTE Options: 9 (4.5 days/week)
Caseload: 8-10 students | Acuity: Low
Pay: Up to $55/hour

Position Summary
Spotter Staffing is seeking a licensed Occupational Therapist for a contract assignment split between a member district high school (Grayslake-Gurnee area) and a school in Mundelein that serves a high needs population. The students are part of a program that serves student on the autism spectrum that have learning needs in a highly structured, sensory-supportive, 1:1-staffed environment. This is a low-acuity caseload well suited to an OT comfortable with sensory-based and functional life-skills intervention.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct and consultative OT services per student IEPs
• Support sensory processing/integration strategies and classroom sensory diets
• Address fine/gross motor skills, handwriting, and functional task performance
• Support ADL/self-care skill development and adaptive equipment needs
• Conduct evaluations, progress monitoring, and documentation
• Collaborate with IEP teams, teachers, speech, PT, and behavior staff

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy
• Current Illinois OT license
• Experience with autism/sensory-based populations preferred
